Sharks

Sharks have been around for about 400 million years! Before dinosaurs were here on the earth sharks lived in the ocean! A shark's jaws are different than other animals because its lower and upper jaws move. When a shark bites it bites with its lower jaw and than its upper jaw. When it eats it swings his head back and forth to tear a loose piece of meat. It swallows the food whole! Different types of sharks have different shaped teeth depending on the food they eat. A great white shark is a carnivore, like most sharks. Sharks may grow over 20,000 teeth in its lifetime! Sharks never run out of teeth! If he loses one another comes forward from the rows of backup teeth. Sharks usually eat by themselves, but sometimes if a shark is eating it may attract other sharks. They will swim up real quick and try to get a nibble of the food. Most sharks are carnivores. They eat fish, dolphins, seals, turtles, and even seagulls. Sometimes sharks will eat other sharks. The sharks that are carnivores have teeth made out of cartilage instead of bone because cartilage teeth are more flexible. Some sharks are quite harmless. Fun fact, the most harmless sharks are usually the largest!
Sharks predators are people! They eat sharks! Isn't that terrible!
Sharks are very fascinating!
